How it began

Our Story

From him

The Groom's Story

When people tell the story of how they met the person they love, it usually sounds like a movie. They talk about love at first sight, time slowing down, or how the universe somehow aligned at the perfect moment.

Ours? It began when she, for reasons I still can't explain, started telling me the most animated story... about a door. We were barely more than classmates, yet there she was, talking to me like we'd been friends for years. I remember thinking, "Does she always do this?"

As it turns out, she did and I'm incredibly grateful she did.

And the more I got to know her, the more I realized that moment was not an exception; it was simply who she was.

She was my personification of the sun: bright, warm, and full of energy.

And I was the moon. While she embraced life with spontaneity and an open heart, I approached it with careful thought and quiet observation. She brought light into moments I often overlooked, while I brought steadiness to the world she eagerly explored.

Somehow, in our differences, we found balance. Like opposite forces drawn together, our differences brought out the best in each other.

From her

The Bride's Story

If someone had told me back in 2012 that I'd end up marrying my Physics 71 recitation partner, I would've laughed and said, "What?!" Back then, Gideon and I were simply two students trying to survive Physics at UP… well, technically, it was mostly me trying to survive. I still remember walking up to him and asking, "Do you have a partner already?" (For the quiz, of course!) To me, he was the incredibly shy, incredibly smart classmate with the unforgettable name, Gideon Eros.

After that semester, life took us in different directions, and we lost touch. Five years later, after I passed the board exam, he replied to one of my Facebook stories to congratulate me. One conversation became many, and before I knew it, talking to Gideon had quietly become part of my everyday life.

Somewhere along the way, I realized he was the one patiently keeping those conversations alive. The smart guy I once knew from Physics became the person I couldn't wait to hear from each day.

Looking back now, I realize our story was never built on grand romantic gestures. It was built one conversation at a time, by a man who patiently pursued my heart, remembered the little things I had almost forgotten, and quietly became my safest place. And somehow, the incredibly shy, incredibly smart guy, with unforgettable name from my Physics class turned out to be the love of my life.
